The Club des ornithologues de l’Outaouais and its volunteers proudly offer the Guide to Birdwatching Sites of the Outaouais.(2009). While the guide was written primarily for birders anyone who enjoys scenic areas will find the guide useful
The guide describes
48 sites scattered throughout the Outaouais and the northeast of the
Upper Laurentians and is based on the knowledge gained over many years
by experienced birders. Well-known local birding sites are included as
well as areas further afield but well worth the trip.
The guide is
illustrated with pictures, drawings and clear and practical maps. A
frequency chart providing the times of the year when the various bird
species are present is included along with a list of birds seen more
rarely or at least more rarely reported in the general area. The birds
of the Outaouais are out here waiting to show themselves so get out
here and see them!
The guide and the frequency chart are available in both English and French versions. For more information on the French version, click here.
